Ancient Ways

You tell me you don’t believe in the God and Goddess

No dogma can hold your faith

That makes me weep not

For as long as you recognize the trees

And share memories with stones

Warming in the sun’s rays

As long as you remember

The birds, the sea and the springs

The animals and life out of sight

But never out of reach

As long as you still know

The wee folk and the dragons

The power of thunder

The transformation of fire

And strength of the winds of change

As long as there is poetry and song

Wisdom carried and shared

As long as you refuse to accept injustice

And know that power for one can never mean peace for all

As long as you are true of spirit

And find laughter in the shadows of the clouds

As long as you are true to the blood of your

Ancestors before you

You will forever dance among the ancients
